Auction Saturday night June 7!

An auction will take place at the Embassy Suites Arboretum Saturday night, June 7, after
the meeting.  Shuttle service will be provided from The Commons Center to the Embassy
Suites hotel.  Come enjoy drinks, snacks, a no-host dinner at the hotel restaurant and a
fun-loving auction!  Proceeds from the auction will go towards future meetings and co-
chair travel to represent SW PARC at national meetings.  Everyone is encouraged to
donate herp related items to the auction, including books, art, jewelry, posters, knick-
knacks, shirts, and anything else promoting herp conservation.  If you have any questions
regarding the auction, please contact Polly Conrad at pconrad@ndow.org.  Arrangements
can be made if you would like to ship items to Austin for the auction ahead of time.

The 2008 HLCS Working Group meeting is being held in conjunction with Southwest Partners
in Amphibian and Reptile Conservation (SW PARC) and the Texas Herpetological Society
(THS) partners. The Joint SW PARC-HLCS-THS meeting will take place in Austin, Texas,
on 5-8 June 2008.

This year’s meeting theme is Herpetofaunal Conservation on Private Lands, although many
diverse reptile, turtle and/or amphibian conservation issues will be discussed. A tentative

The meeting is open to anyone interested in reptile, turtle, or amphibian conservation in
the southwestern U.S., Hawaii or Mexico. State and federal agencies, tribes, researchers,
enthusiasts, zoos, museums, non-profit or conservation organizations, private sector or
industry representatives are all welcome and encouraged to attend.

Early registration is $50 for students and $65 for professionals. Single day registration is
also available for $30. Registration includes breaks Thursday, Friday and Saturday, a
hosted social/poster session with refreshments on Friday evening and lunch on Saturday.
